Like everything else, the Wii controller has problems. Learning how to fix Wii controller problems will save you money and keep you from having a splitting headache.
Wii controller problems are usually pretty easy to fix, you just have to think about what exactly is going on. You could have dead batteries, it might not be synced properly, or it could be about a million different other things that are easy to fix.
First, if you have dead batteries, change ‘em! This is, by far, the easiest thing you will do to fix wii controller problems. If the Wiimote is cutting in and out, turning on and off, or skipping across the screen, its probably the batteries. Just change them out, don’t try to keep using it, this will cause a headache and low scores!
Second, if your Wii is telling you that you don’t have a controller, don’t slap it thinking it will work (this comes later). If you know you have a Wiimote and it is in your hand and on, it is probably a syncing problem. You probably have already synced it, but something might have happened to the sync data. This is an easy fix, all you have to do is delete the sync data and re-sync it. To do this, press and hold the red sync button on the system when the “health and safety” screen is up, and then re-sync as normal.
Lastly, there are about a million (not really, but it seems that way) other problems the Wiimote can have. But they, for the most part, all have one simple fix. Turn it over, battery side up, and give it a little smack. Don’t beat it, don’t take a hammer it it, don’t try to make it feel your pain and anger. A small, swift, and firm slap can make it work again. Think about it, if a piece of plastic gets stuck in a solder point, it will keep it from working. The slap will knock it loose and help it work! Believe me, it works, not all the time, but more than you think.
Like I said, the Wii controller has many upon many problems. Not all of them are easy fixes, but these problems are easy to find and fix. Don’t get too worked up over something stupid like this. Stay calm and think about what is happening!
